While he didn't top the leaderboard, Ross earned a total of 10 points out of 40.
He had a lot to say about his first dance as he appeared on Lorraine, as he and the ITV show host, 65, watched the footage back for the first time.
Ross joked: 'I got a 10! Unfortunately, it was all the scores added together but I can say that I got a 10... but it was terrifying. I've not watched it back.'
Heaping praise on his partner, he went on: 'Jowita is just amazing, the routine was just a couple of minutes, we learned it in ten days.'
Hitting back at the comments about his moves, Ross continued: 'Like with live TV, people watch it and think how easy it is, but they don't realise everything that goes on and the experience that you've had to do it.

'You've no control over anything.'
Hitting out at the scoring, Lorraine jumped in: 'Shirley in particular was really harsh, and I'm so glad that Motsi said, "Do you know what? This man has never actually danced before", for goodness sake cut you a bit of slack.'
Ross added: 'We talked about this before I even did it, I said, "I can't dance", and then you get to it, and you go, "No, I really can't dance"...
'I was waiting for Craig to say, "it was downhill from the beginning and it didn't get any better"...
'I think everyone did really well, apart from this little Scottish bloke.
'But it was an amazing night, we really did have fun - you just have no control over anything so it was absolutely terrifying.'
Teasing what's to come, Ross added: 'I think it will be something slower!'
It comes after Strictly fans were left speechless as his glamorous new girlfriend made her first appearance on the show over the weekend.

Dani Dyer shares a first look at the injury that forced her to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing as she reflects on 'emotional' week liennhi

Dani Dyer has shared a first look at the injury that forced her to pull out of
Last week former Love Island star Dani, 29, had to withdraw from the BBC show just two days before it started after fracturing her ankle during training.
Ahead of Saturday's first live show, bosses replaced her with fellow former Love Island star Amber Davies.
And on Sunday Dani shared a snap of her fractured ankle in a support strap as she got some well-needed rest and gave an update for her followers.
She penned in her post: 'It's been a lazy.. emotional week.
'I was so excited for this side of the year but it really hasn't ended the way I wanted it too.. taking everyday as it comes whilst my annoying foot gets better.'

Dani Dyer has shared a first look at the injury that forced her to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing

On Sunday she shared a snap of her fractured ankle in a support strap as she got some well-needed rest and admitted it had been an emotional week
The Daily Mail broke the news that Dani, one of the show's favourites, had to bow out last Tuesday, after fracturing her ankle during a training rehearsal the Friday before.
Dani later confirmed this in a statement and said: 'I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny.
'I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.
'Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l've had to pull out of the show.
'To say I'm heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.'
The accident occurred before Dani even got to perform one routine.
Bosses had hoped that Dani would go far in the competition, but it was announced last Tuesday that she could not continue in the competition.
In a statement, BBC bosses confirmed that the door would be left open for 'heartbroken' Dani to return next year, saying they 'hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.'

She penned in her post: 'It's been a lazy... emotional week. I was so excited for this side of the year but it really hasn't ended the way I wanted it too...'

She also shared a snap of a beautiful bunch of flowers that she had been sent as she recovered
Dani was the second star to pull out of this year's series before the first live show has even aired, as Game Of Thrones star Kristian Nairn withdrew from the lineup due to 'unexpected medical reasons.'
Sarah James, Executive Producer for BBC Studios said: 'Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.
'Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she's no longer able to compete in this year's series.
'We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.'
Dani's replacement Amber raised eyebrows due to her dance experience as a West End star.
She impressed the judges on Saturday night with her Waltz with partner Nikita Kuzmin.
Amber shot to fame on ITV's Love Island in 2017, when she told viewers she was a dancer.
She graduated from The Urdang Academy, a London performing arts college, with a professional diploma in musical theatre.
