BRITNEY Spears' bizarre social media posts have long troubled fans, but things took an even darker turn last week as they spotted what looked like dog poo smeared across the floor of her filthy home.

Now, as fears about her wellbeing grow, those close to the pop megastar have revealed the disturbing truth about her life behind closed doors - and say the scenes from inside her mucky mansion are just the "tip of the iceberg" as she "loses touch with reality".

Once voted the world’s sexiest woman, with a £100million Vegas residency under her belt and a pop star boyfriend hanging off her arm - Britney appeared to have it all.

Fast forward to today, and the superstar has sparked concern among her legion of loyal fans, with many questioning whether she needs more support around her.

Last week, Britney, 43, posted a typically bizarre video online - but as she danced in her ‘PJs’, a crop top, tiny shorts and knee-high

boots, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice what looked like dog mess in the background.

Just four years on from escaping her conservatorship, pals close to the star believe she’s in the ‘toughest spot’ she’s ever been in,

wrestling to put her life back together and stuck in a fantasy world.

One insider, who has known the star for over two decades, told us: “She has been struggling for many years now, and she doesn't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“I feel desperate because I'm trying to help her bounce back and be happy again, but she seems stuck in this 'bad zone' where she needs attention.

“The dog poop really is just the tip of the iceberg - her house is a tip. Some rooms are just filled with worn clothes. The kitchen isn't much better."

The pal believes, like Peter Pan, Britney is tragically stuck as a young adult - unable to move on with her life and grow up after all her past trauma.

They said: “She shuts down when I tell her anything about the house and says that everything is fine and that life is beautiful.

“She thinks she is 20 years old again, like she has no responsibilities and can just have fun and live life like a young adult, a preteen.

In November of 2021, Britney broke down in tears when a judge ruled that her conservatorship was finally ending - allowing her to take full control of her life and career for the first time in 13 years.

During the harrowing court case, Britney described her years in conservatorship as an "abusive nightmare" that "stripped me of my womanhood," preventing her from having children, while controlling her life, and causing trauma and exhaustion.

As her dad, Jamie, stepped away from the role and Britney slowly made her way back into the limelight, fans rejoiced, believing the ‘Free Britney’ movement had really made an impact.

But it was short-lived thanks to her return to social media, which saw her post near-naked clips, dance with knives and share streams of garbled consciousness.

“I've known her for so long, and it's getting to a point where I'm truly worried about her, and I keep trying to get her some help.

“She is acting like a stereotypical artist who has fallen from stardom but is always seeking the spotlight and public attention, with weird behaviors, bizarre social media posts, and acting like a younger version of herself.”

Just last week, the Toxic singer went on another online rant, saying "shame on you" to the trolls who had mocked her poo covered house, adding she was "cleaning my house like no tomorrow".

Other posts that have raised eyebrows recently include one where she posted a picture of Elton John, and revealed a bizarre deam involving him and her having another baby.

In another, she is completely naked apart from her trusty black knee-high boots and a rose emoji to cover her modesty.

Amid her newfound freedom, Britney married her third husband, Sam Asghai, and just a year later, in 2023, they split.

The star’s first husband was Jason Alexander, who she was married to for 55 hours, before tying the knot with

Kevin Federline in 2004, parting ways in 2007 - the exes share sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15.

Britney has since described her marriage to Sam as a "distraction", which she says was to help her deal with the heartache of being estranged from her sons once her conservatorship ended.

In a gut-wrenching post, she shared: "The hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years ... I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears.

"It's weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it."

She is now believed to be back in contact with her two boys, who now live in Hawaii with their dad, and is working slowly on repairing their very broken relationship.

She has considered joining a dating app but is believed to have taken on advice from friends, who have warned her it could open a can of worms that should stay firmly shut.

They said: “She is kind of in a mixed moment: she feels like she can go on multiple dates like she is a teenager, a young adult without responsibilities, just to have a good time.

“But at the same time, she is looking for love, for the man of her dreams, the guy who would make her the happiest lady and treat her like a princess.

“Britney is damaged by love, by her life, but also by her previous marriages and relationships. But she still believes that her special one, the love of her life, is out there waiting for her - and that will be the missing part to her puzzle, saving her from turmoil. She is desperate to find him.”

But while being Peter Pan might be fun for a while, it seems Britney needs to be free from Neverland once and for all if she wants to find her happy ever after.

The insider added: “She needs to change her life habits, get her life together, and face the reality of life to be happy and stable again.

The house, which boasts nine bedrooms, became notorious whilst under Katie's ownership due to its run-down and dilapidated state as well as a series of dramatic issues and legal challenges which took place at the residence.

62-year-old James, originally from Northern Ireland, splashed out £1.15million for the former home of the Pricey and is currently putting it through extensive renovations to make it fit for purpose once more.

He admitted to the Daily Mail that the home's previous owner had left it "mucky" and in need of work.

It is believed that James purchased the home as part of a fresh start with his partner, Leike Qu, who is a co-owner of the house.

James has been with Leike since splitting from his wife and the mother of his kids who has remained in Northern Ireland following their break-up.

Speaking for the first time about owning one of Britain's most famous houses, Leike told the Mail: "We are just very ordinary and quiet people who fell in love with this country house."

The couple are believed to have set aside a substantial amount of money in order to renovate the property with work already underway on turning it into a dream residence once more.

Construction work is ongoing with scaffolding surrounding the mansion.

Katie made a loss on the home with James paying around £200,000 less than Katie originally paid for the home.

This is due to the star failing to find a buyer at the advertised price due to its conditions.

The former glamour model had also previously bragged in interviews that the West Sussex mansion was worth a cool £2million.

Katie will not see a penny of the proceeds if this sale if it does complete, as she no longer owns it.

The mum-of-five was forced out of the dilapidated house in May after failing to meet payments on two mortgages.

Katie was served an eviction notice following her second bankruptcy.

As a result, any money made against the house will be swallowed up by the debts she ran up against it while living there.

In 2022, the star's attempts to renovate the home featured in Channel 4's Katie Price: Mucky Mansion.

The show was eventually axed after two series', shortly before Katie was ordered to move out of the house via an eviction order.

After the bank took possession, the Mucky Mansion - which sits in 12 acres of land - was put up for sale with a price tag of £1.5million.

However, the asking price was later slashed in a bid to get it sold. The price was cut for a second time in October.

The swimming pool was left empty with many of the home's rooms in desperate need of renovation.

Katie also faced personal tragedy at the house with a multitude of her animals dying whilst living there.

Both her horse and her German Shepherd were killed at the home as well as a dog she bought for Princess.
