‘It’s been quietly shelved…’: Claudia Winkleman’s quiz show axed after shock Strictly exit — as BBC fast-tracks her next big chat series and The Traitors comeback sends her schedule into overdrive… - suong
A QUIZ show hosted by in-demand broadcaster Claudia Winkleman has seemingly been shelved after she stepped away to focus on other projects.
The telly shake-up comes just hours after we exclusively reported how BBC One bosses were “fast tracking” her next on-screen project for the broadcaster.
The Traitors presenter Claudia, 53, alongside her Strictly sidekick Tess Daly, 56, announced their plans to step down from their iconic BBC telly role last month.
The two made history as primetime television’s first female presenting duo when they paired up to co-host the show in 2014.
Yet after the bombshell news – and the rocketing success of Claudia’s Celebrity Traitors show on the same channel – it seems one of her programme’s has missed out according to TVzoneuk.com.
We reported how she has cleared her diary by not returning to host Channel 4 quiz One Question – and now the website claims the show, which boasted two series, reportedly will not return at all.
It was last seen on screen in February, where Claud admitted she ‘could not cope” with the tension as one couple gambled £100K.
The show saw her invite a pair of contestants to answer one single question, giving them 16 possible answers.
With £100,000 on the line, the game progressed as they try to eliminate each incorrect answer, taking them closer to the jackpot prize.
The Sun has been to Channel 4 for comment on the axe claims.
NEW SHOW
Meanwhile, we were first to report on the BBC’s plans for Claud’s new talk programme.
Beeb bosses are hoping to air Claudia’s A-lister interview show on Friday nights with plans for it to start as early as March.
It does not have a working title yet but it is expected to air until May next year.
A TV insider says: “If ever proof were needed that Claudia is now very much the BBC’s golden girl following the huge success of The Celebrity Traitors, then this is it.
“Given that Strictly started in September, it means that by the time her new chat show concludes she will have been on our screens almost constantly for eight months.
“And they’re some of the biggest TV successes the BBC has ever seen — with the chat show expected to enjoy equally huge ratings when it debuts.
“Work is hugely picking up pace, although the Beeb have yet to fully form the plan and announce it, though they’re expected to reveal more details next month.”
After Strictly Come Dancing ends in December, Claudia will host The Traitors, expected in January.
EXIT LOWDOWN
It comes after The Sun revealed the real reason behind Tess and Claud’s shock departure.
BBC bosses are said to have been blindsided by their departure, with only a small number of people in the TV industry made aware of their intentions.
It’s understood they secretly filmed the exit video weeks ago — and released it mid-series so as not to overshadow the eventual winner.
Their last show will be on Christmas Day.
A source said: “Claudia and Tess have known they were leaving Strictly since last year. They felt like it was their time to go.
“They discussed this privately and agreed they would walk away together, but kept it firmly under wraps.”
Their exit comes after the BBC show was hit by a string of recent scandals involving its professional dancers and behind-the-scenes conduct.
Plummeting viewing figures and “underwhelming” line-ups even prompted betting giants to offer odds earlier this year on this being the show’s final outing.
EXIT STATEMENTS
In a statement to her fans, Tess said it was “time to say goodbye” and described Strictly as “about joy, celebration, and bringing people together”.
Tess also paid tribute to her co-host, adding: “To my beloved Claud – what an absolute joy and pleasure it has been sharing this adventure with you.
“You’re one of a kind, and I’ll treasure every giggle, every live show, and every backstage moment we’ve shared.”
Claudia called the show “the greatest relationship of my career”.
She said: “Strictly is a magical, glittery, fake-tanned train and it’s been a privilege to be a tiny part of it.
“I’ve always believed it’s best to leave a party before you’re fully ready to go.”
She also remembered legendary judge Len Goodman, saying: “I will never forget Len Goodman trying to teach me what a cucaracha is (I still don’t know.)
“And the complete thrill and honour it was to work with Tess on the results show to cohosting on Saturday nights.”
She praised Tess, adding: “As for Tess – I’m so, so lucky I got to stand next to you. You’re funny, kind, whip smart and a true friend and I love you.”
‘You can’t rush something like that…’: MAFS UK groom’s mum left horrified as bride Leisha gushes about having three kids during their first meeting — leaving Reiss speechless and viewers cringing over the painfully awkward exchange… - suong

MAFS UK groom Reiss’ mum warned his wife Leisha to ‘slow down’ as she spoke about plans for three kids during her first meeting with her.
E4 viewers saw Reiss Boyce marry Leisha Lightbody arrive as latecomers before tying the knot and attempt to navigate their new life as husband and wife.
The couple, who’ve had a rocky relationship so far, seemed to be going from strength to strength during homestays week recently.
But while meeting Reiss’ mum, Leisha appeared to be a few steps ahead of her husband – an ongoing theme for the couple during the series so far.
The three of them met for drinks and it seemed warm and friendly to begin with, but Reiss’ mum was soon to express her fears as talk turned to children.
“We’ve been getting on like a house on fire,” Reiss told his mum, who seemed pleased with their relationship status.
Leisha confirmed what Reiss had said, and then proudly added: “We’ve got
Reiss and his mum appeared visibly shocked, as Reiss told the camera separately: “I was not expecting Leisha to bring up children.”
Reiss’ mum questioned: “So you’re talking about having children already? I think you’ve got to leave it a while.”
She went on to warn Leisha: “You can’t rush anything as serious as having children.”
But brushing her advice to one side, Leisha said back: “Well I need to pop three out so…”
Reiss’ mum was left with her head in her hands after the awkward conversation.
“No you don’t, for goodness sake,” she said, as she looked down at the table in disbelief.
Leisha told the camera: “Darling, I’m 32 this year. I’ll be popping those sprogs out in a year.”
Clearly seeing the funny side, Leisha has since commented beneath the clip shared on the official MAFS Instagram, writing: “Do yous want to know the baby names now that’s the question.”
The children’s chatter continued as the couple headed to Edinburgh for Leisha’s leg of the Homestays, during which she picked out kids’ outfits from a shop and asked Reiss which he preferred.
Keen to put the subject matter to one side, Reiss warned his persistent wife that they should park that conversation for the time being.
Reiss previously had a brush with fame after dating TOWIE star Dani Imbert on and off since Summer 2023 after her fling with co-star Roman Hackett.
The pair were smitten with each other before abruptly calling things off.
Earlier this month, Dani appeared to hint that she was still seeing Reiss up until a few weeks ago.
Dani took to her Instagram Story and shared a screenshot someone wrote, which read: “I saw him with that bird from Towie last month.”
Alongside the post, Dani added the side eyes emoji, hinting there was some truth to it.
She later appeared to take a savage dig at him while suggesting his relationship with Leisha didn’t last once cameras stopped rolling.
Taking to her TikTok, she wrote: “When your ex gets a new gf so I crack one more time just to remind myself that he is indeed still easy & accessible and that’s exactly why I left.”
Reiss and Leisha got off to a bad start at their wedding reception when Leisha pummelled Reiss with questions about his life.
Things went from bad to worse on the way back from the honeymoon, when Leisha threw up on herself after drinking and chatted to another man at the back of a plane for what Reiss says was “an hour.”
This week, they admitted to a problem they were having in the bedroom department.
In an awkward exchange they revealed how Leisha would prefer more spontaneous sex, while Reiss wanted a rumble under the sheets when the lights are out and then off to bed,
Asked what could help improve their sex life, turning to Reiss, Leisha said: “Obviously, you need to open up a lot more.”
Talking to the experts, the bride added: “He needs to be a little bit more vulnerable, cuddling, kissing.”
Reiss then told the experts: “One of the things was, I’m not spontaneous enough, in the bedroom. Okay. We’ve got routines.”
Asked by Paul what these “routines are”, the groom replied: “We get to it, like, say, in the evening, whereas I think Leisha wants it a little bit more, I don’t know, lunchtime, lunchtime, morning, like, anytime you get some, you know.”
