Elaine Hendrix Shares When She’ll Be ‘Cleared’ to Return to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Rehearsals Following Hospitalization trucc
Elaine Hendrix is giving an update on when she’ll return to Dancing With the Stars rehearsal.
Hendrix, 54, announced via Instagram on Wednesday, October 29, that she’s recovering from the injury that sent her to the hospital earlier this month and shared her and partner Alan Bersten’s plans before the next live show.
“Hi, everyone! Doing a check-in to let you know that I’m doing OK,” Hendrix said in a video message with Bersten, 31, by her side. “I am up and about. I am tender. I am sore. But I’m starting pain management today.”
She explained, “I’m not dancing today. I’m not dancing tomorrow. We’ll be back at it Friday, and I’m just getting ready to be in that ballroom next Tuesday.”
Chiming in, Bersten added, “We just wanna say thank you so much for voting for us. And showing so much love to Elaine. And the support. We can feel it and we appreciate it so much.”
“Yeah, it’s palpable,” Hendrix agreed. “All of your messages, I’m seeing it all. And I just want you to know that, first and foremost, I’m OK.”
The Parent Trap actress thanked her fans for “all the love and support.”
Hendrix was hospitalized after she experienced rib pain during rehearsals for Halloween Night earlier this week. In an Instagram update on Tuesday, October 28, she revealed that she injured her ribs while dancing to Wicked’s “Defying Gravity” on the ABC competition series days prior. When she rehearsed with Bersten later, her ribs “just seized up.”
“I couldn’t move. They brought me to the hospital,” Hendrix explained at the time. “The doctor has said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue, and that’s exactly what I want to do. I want to dance, I want to keep doing this.”
Cut to Wednesday’s update: Besides announcing that she and Bersten will be back in business come Friday, she expressed regret over missing out on the Tuesday broadcast, in which Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik were eliminated.
“The hardest part of yesterday was not being able to show you just how incredible our piece could have been,” Hendrix captioned her post, also sharing behind-the-scenes photos of the outfit she would have worn. “Here’s my costume, hair and the overall inspo we had planned for last night. The DWTS creative team is THE BEST! 👏🏼✨.”
Hendrix’s look was inspired by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road and involved a tattered, neutral-toned dress and braided updo.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Hendrix was given the go-ahead to resume her DWTS journey beginning with the Tuesday, November 4, episode, which has a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame theme.
Despite missing Halloween Night, Hendrix and Bersten received eights across the board from the judges, who determined their scores based on footage from her and Bersten’s last full rehearsal. With fans’ votes, they were saved from elimination.
“You guys voted, we are going to be safe. We got another dance to [perform],” Bersten confirmed during a TikTok Live after the episode. “We’re going to take it easy but we will be back for the show. We will take this week easy.”

“Married to Medicine” star Dr. Heavenly Kimes is no stranger to controversial moments and nasty feuds. In fact, during the current season, she’s been clashing with Dr. Contessa Metcalfe. Heavenly started a YouTube channel a few years ago. And she’s decided to use the platform to review the episodes. Plus, she’ll oftentimes give business and relationship advice to her subscribers as well. However, some of her costars haven’t appreciated the comments she’s made about them and their marriages. In fact, Contessa was furious when Heavenly told fans that she felt that Dr. Scott Metcalfe is verbally and emotionally abusive. Contessa just believes a friend shouldn’t say this about another friend’s husband.
One of the most intense moments of the season was the intervention Contessa planned for Heavenly. At the event, Contessa made sure a montage of Heavenly’s shady YouTube comments was played. Heavenly laughed. And she said she doesn’t regret the comments she’s made on her channel. Heavenly eventually apologized to Contessa but Contessa’s tense moment with Dr. Damon Kimes only stalled the progress they were making on reviving the friendship.
Well, it seems as if another heated moment for Heavenly was edited out. A scene of Heavenly throwing a drink at Kari Wells had fans talking on social media.
Kari Wells and Dr. Heavenly Kimes haven’t always gotten along.
Dr. Heavenly Kimes has an interesting relationship with Kari Wells. In fact, the “Married to Medicine” stars have clashed a lot over the years. However, they appeared to get in a cordial space somewhat last season. However, Heavenly didn’t like it when Kari called Dr. Damon Kimes “Daddy.” Of course, Heavenly has been calling Damon that for years. And she doesn’t want another woman to do the same. Regardless, fans are wondering what could have led to the blowup they had while filming the current season.
On the recent episode, Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore got with their husbands to plan a cast trip to Blue Ridge Mountains. Both women figured that a trip needed to happen because there has been a lot of tension and drama in the group. And it’s gotten really bad considering Toya Bush-Harris and Audra Frimpong even had an altercation at Quad Webb’s holiday party.
During the scene, producers decided to do a flashback of previous messy moments between the cast that occurred during the season. But one scene they showed featured Heavenly tossing a drink at Kari. The scene itself was never shown until the flashback sequence. And context is missing.

In the clip, Heavenly tells Kari, “Get out of my face with that!” She then threw the drink in Kari’s face. Kari responded, “What the **** is wrong with you?!” Kari then drew her drink at Heavenly.
